Week 28/40... Goodbye 2nd trimester, Hello 3rd trimester

my darling at week 27+

as of today, i am officially in my final trimester. truth be told, i am feeling kinda panicky still... worrying about so many things from being fatigue and lethargic in the final few weeks, to dreaming about labour and child birth, to worrying that i couldn't take the pain of child birth etc.

on the lighter side, let me just try to recap about my 2nd trimester journey, before i totally erase the experiences off my brain.

week 14: still feeling a wee bit nausea after brushing teeth at night, but it was better compared to the nausea experience during the first trimester. not too busy with lab work in that week.

week 15 - 19: nausea feelings got better and eventually diminished at the end of 15th or 16th week. terrible storms hit Singapore, and lab work increased significantly. tried to complete whatever i can at work and within my capability as a preggie. tried not to complain, but i failed after a while because work is just too overwhelming for me to handle. thankfully the bosses stopped collecting storm samples after a while. my little tummy began to show slightly during these weeks and i found out that my normal clothings had "shrunk" to a certain extent.  which is when i realised that it is time to go shopping for maternity clothings. thank God for sisters who had been pregnant before, because i was blessed with a BIG BAG of maternity clothings, and i don't really have to spend too much on new clothings.

week 20: i had a wardrobe change, and began to wear those maternity (or loose normal clothings) clothings to work. went for the detailed scan, found out gender of my baby, and the baby is growing well indeed, despite of all those terrible lab work demands in the past few weeks. began to feel the first few light flutterings of the little one.
20 weeks

week 21: all samples cleared (PTL!) and no more lab work after that. flutterings are still light, but consistent.
21 weeks

week 22: suffered from withdrawal syndrome from lab work. the small little tummy gradually became slightly bigger, and rounder, and more obvious. baby has gain quite a bit of strength to turn the light flutterings into harder kicks, pushes, punches and sometimes doing acrobatics in the womb.
22 weeks

week 23 to 27: baby's growing up well, which means my tummy is growing "up" very well too! and i'm not very sure when it started, but i had been hit a few times with some terrible, and some not-too-terrible leg cramps in the middle of the night during these weeks. baby became really active inside the tummy. her kicks are much harder, so much so to the extent that i can see my round tummy jerking when she kicks. and she started to have hiccups too.

23, 24, 25, 26 and 27th weeks

Week 24/40

i'm already starting to feel my girl's activities in the tummy. she is very active in the day time during office hours. and at night she doesn't move much. probably following mummy's sleeping time. but sometimes she will be very active at night when i lie down on the bed and trying to call it a day. and when that happens, i'll play the lullaby CD which i bought earlier. that will not only make me sleep, i'm sure it makes the little princess sleep too!

we've been shopping around quite a fair bit lately to look at prams, car seats, high chair etc... baby's needs and necessities, coz since i'm in my "honeymoon trimester" and that my energy level is still quite high. we had also furnished up the nursary. and it looks something like this:

don't ask me why there is a combination of girlie pink and boyish blue. i'll just say this is a very confused baby!

week 24
went for a scanning last night. the gynae determined the baby's weight to see if she's growing alright. she's now weighing around 700+ grams, which is quite an average weight for a fetus at this age. the gynae also helped me determine the baby's position so that i'll know which part of her is moving when i feel the movements. can see the baby's movement during the scan. the most amazing one is when she opened her mouth so wide (and i caught it with my own eyes), it is as if she is yawning! enjoy the pictures!

Week 20 of 40... i am... HALFWAY THERE!! :-D

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

went for a detailed scan 2 days ago to check on baby's overall development. so far so good, everything about the baby's development is good. checked on the gender... and its gonna be a little PRINCESS! God indeed has been good to keep the little girl in her tip-top condition!

it's such a joy to see that the baby moved so much during the scan. she is indeed a very active baby, and very shy too!

here are just a few of the many scan pictures that the sonographer took. enjoy!

Faith (a blog of toothbrushs and toothpastes)

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" - Hebrews 11:1

Something new and interesting i learn yesterday about faith:

"now faith is like a toothbrush... everyone must have one, and must use it regularly...
however, it is unsafe to use one that belongs to others!"
- Ps Kenneth Teo

and something else i learn yesterday about toothpaste...

"talking is like squeezing a toothpaste...
once it is out, you can't keep it back"

pretty true isn't it?
